The GMC Yukon offers 15.3 cubic feet of cargo space; however, with the third row folded, the Yukon offers up to 51.7 cubic feet of storage space. The Yukon's second row can fold for even more cargo room.

The base trim of the GMC Yukon offers drivers 18-inch alloy wheels, three-zone climate control, cloth upholstery, front and rear parking sensors, remote start, and a rear-seat reminder system. Keyless entry is also standard in the GMC Yukon. The front seats are also controllable through power-operated functions.

Performance

For drivers near Sherman, a capable SUV is a top priority. The base engine of the GMC Yukon is a 5.3-liter V8 gas-powered engine. This engine pairs with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The basic powertrain offers up to 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque for traveling around Lincoln.

The second powertrain available for customers is also a V8; the 6.2-liter engine pairs with a 10-speed automatic transmission. This powertrain offers up to 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.

When properly equipped, drivers can expect the GMC Yukon in the standard wheelbase to tow up to 8,500 pounds around Decatur. The Yukon XL, with its additional length in the wheelbase, can tow about 8,300 pounds. Adding four-wheel drive capability will pare down the towing capacity of the Yukon and Yukon XL, but not by a great difference. The 4WD Yukon with a standard wheelbase can tow 8,300 pounds, and the Yukon XL can tow up to 8,000 pounds around Jacksonville, IL.

Safety

Driver assistance features for customers are optional and include automatic emergency braking, automatic high beams, and forward collision warning.

Trim Levels

The GMC Yukon is available in four trim levels. They include:

  • SLE - base trim
  • SLT Standard - offers a power liftgate, leather upholstery
  • SLT - heated and cooled front seats, hands-free power liftgate
  • Denali - HID headlights, active noise cancellation, Magnetic Ride Control dampers

Efficiency

Based on EPA estimates, the Yukon models equipped with the 5.3-liter engine and RWD offer up to 22 mpg, while the models equipped with the 6.2-liter engine offer up to 23 mpg.

Why You Should Consider an SUV

An SUV offers drivers the perfect mash-up between riding in a sedan with the capability of a truck. Your new SUV can tow a trailer or a camper when properly equipped. Because the Yukon can seat up to nine when properly configured, drivers utilizing an SUV can tow family and friends in comfort and safety. The Yukon can also come outfitted as an off-road capable SUV, so you can traverse all types of road conditions that you couldn't access in a sedan.
